A scholarly bird with cream eyes, sun-gold beak, and a sea-blue bow tie. scholarly · patient · curious · warm — the personality of a great tutor in one mark.
1.What the owl carries
A mascot is a contract about how the brand feels. The owl makes specific promises — and refuses specific feelings.
Wise
Owl with glasses · the universal "I'll teach you" posture. Every culture reads owl + spectacles as a teacher figure.
Big, attentive eyes. Slight head-tilt available. The owl is *interested* in what you're learning.
not:aloof · stern · scolding
Warm
Cream eye discs + gold beak balance the cool blue palette. The owl is friendly without being childish.
not:mascot-cute · hyper-friendly · juvenile
Scholarly
Bow tie + the hint of a mortarboard tassel. Subtle academic signal — present, never overdone.
not:professorial · stuffy · "ivy"
Universal
No facial features that read as a specific gender, age, or culture. The owl is a vessel for any voice.
not:ethnic-specific · gendered · western-only
2.Mascot variations
One canonical owl, three expressions. Use the right one for the moment.
▸ canonical · attentive
The default
Tutor at full attention. Use everywhere by default — modal #2, right-rail companion, all marketing.
▸ thinking · with idea bulb
The thinker
Eyes look up. A small gold idea-bulb hovers nearby. Use during plan generation, regenerate states, "let me think" moments.
▸ listening · winking
The listener
Head tilted, one eye winking. Use when student is talking back, on the mic, or when Tutor is acknowledging their response.
3.Logo lockups
Four ways to put the owl on the page. Each has a job — pick by surface and constraint.

4.Colors from the owl
Every color in the owl is also a brand color. The mascot doesn't sit on top of the palette — it is the palette.

▸ INSIGHT: the owl tells you the rule of thumb for the whole brand.
Cool body (sky → sea), warm anchors (cream + gold). Use the same proportions on every page — ~80% blues by area, ~15% cream/text, ~5% gold for "moments of light".
5.Visual elements pulled from the owl
Six recurring shapes and motifs you can reuse across the product so it all reads as one system.
▸ ROUND ALL THINGS
From the owl's body and eye discs. Avatars, badges, status pills, mode glyphs — all circles. No sharp corners on identity elements.
▸ CREAM-ON-DEEP DUO
Hello.
Cream text on deep sky is the warmest pairing in the system. Use for hero copy, welcome lines, the moments that should glow.
▸ GOLD HIGHLIGHT MOMENT
💡Key insight
The gold beak reappears as the highlight color. Use sparingly — once per visible surface — for "this is the moment."
▸ HATCHING / TEXTURE
From the chest feather hatching. A subtle texture for empty states, dividers, and "background" surfaces. Always sky-300 dashed.
▸ STAR-SPECK CONSTELLATION
A sprinkle of pale dots evoking owl's habitat (night sky). Use for hero backgrounds and quiet moments. Never on top of content.
▸ SOFT GLOW HALO
From the owl-stage radial. Surrounds the avatar; sets the lighting. Use for the modal #2 owl, hero portraits, splash screens.

7.Owl-handling rules
The owl always faces the viewer. No 3/4 turns, no profile shots. Eyes meet eyes.
Glasses are non-negotiable. They're 80% of why the owl reads as "tutor". Don't drop them, even at the smallest size.
Cream eye discs are sacred. Never recolor the eye discs. They're the warmth that makes the brand feel kind.
Gold beak only. The beak is gold across every variant — never blue, never coral. It's the brand's tiny sun.
Bow tie is optional, mortarboard rare. The bow tie can drop on small sizes (favicon, icon). The mortarboard hint is only for "scholar mode" surfaces (paths, certificates).
Never animate the body. The owl's body is calm. Animation lives in the mouth (lipsync), eyes (blinks, looking up/down), and ear tufts (subtle).
Never make the owl angry, sad, or shocked. Tutor emotions = attentive, thinking, listening, approving. Nothing punishing.
